Transitioning to Fall

Charleston, South Carolina | October 2nd 2017

 J. Crew Sweater, J. Crew Jeans, Tory Burch Wedges

I am so excited that Fall is finally here! I love everything about fall, the crisp air, the color leaves that crunch beneath your feet, and pumpkin everything! It really is my favorite time of year. I can't think of anything better than cozying up in a comfy sweater with an apple pie in the oven made with apples from the apple farm.

Unfortunately, my fall hasn't quite looked this way. The weather in South Carolina is HOT and it doesn't seem to be cooling down anytime soon. So how do I battle the hot weather and my need for fall? I start to alter my wardrobe, not by putting my summer clothes away, but by changing the colors and textures that I wear.

Some colors that are showing up a lot this season are marigold, burgundy, and olive green, all colors that I absolutely love! I wore this marigold sweater during our recent trip to Charleston. The short sleeves make it perfect for the warmer weather, but the color and soft texture make it very fall-esque. (And even better, its currently on sale at J Crew!) This color has been showing up paired with burgundy and other reds which is why I decided to pair it with a bold red lip. I am wearing Bobbi Brown Lipstick in the color Red. It's one of my favorites and will be on repeat this fall and winter.

These jeans from J Crew are also on sale when you use the code SHOPFAST. I talked about this in this post and they have become one of my absolute favorite pairs. I think the cropped jean trend is really flattering and these are one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I own. I decided to pair the outfit with these Tory Burch espadrille sandals because they keep the outfit appropriate for the weather. These were a staple for me all summer long. They are the perfect color to go with everything and add a bit of flair to regular espadrilles.

I am really looking forward to a trip we have planned back home mid-october so we can really get into the fall spirit!
