Summer Skincare Routine

IMG_4129.jpg

It has been a while since I have been able to write a blog post, but I am back! I was so busy after graduation with moving, unpacking, and getting into a new routine. Before I knew it summer was in full swing, so I wanted to let you know how I adjust my skincare to battle the hot summer heat. Sunday Riley and Image Skincare are my two favorite brands and I don't really stray from either of them. My skin is very sensitive so when I find something that works I stick with it! The prices of some of these items are definitely on the higher end, but when it comes to taking care of my face and my skin I think it is worth the splurge. These products are going to be great for protecting and repairing your skin from the sun.

I start by cleansing my skin with the Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser. This product will cleanse the skin of any impurities while also infusing antioxidants and vitamin C to help brighten the skin. I then follow up with my two favorite oils from Sunday Riley, UFO and Juno. UFO has salicylic acid in it so it is going to help fight any breakouts during the day that could be caused by sweat, sunscreen, or makeup. Juno is filled with antioxidants and super-seed oils to restore the skins natural moisture barrier. For best results, wait 5 minutes in between each of these oils so your skin can absorb them properly and get their maximum benefits.

Next, I apply the Sunday Riley Auto correct. I use an eye cream to help reduce dark circles and keep my under eyes moisturized for preventative measures. I finish it off by applying the Image Daily Matte Moisturizer. I like this moisturizer in the summer for 2 reasons. First, it contains an SPF which is so important if you are going to be in the sun. You should wear an SPF on your face every day all year long. Second, it is a matte moisturizer. I am a pretty oily person so I don't need the extra wet or greasy look from a moisturizer or sunscreen. Another benefit is that it won't clog your pores like some other sunscreens will.

Nighttime Routine Details

Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser, C.E.O Rapid Flash Brightening SerumJuno Oil, Auto Correct, Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream

At night I start my routine the same way with the same cleanser to remove any dirt, sweat, sunscreen or makeup. Next I use the Sunday Riley brightening serum. This serum has the highest quality Vitamin C to reduce the look of sun spots, discoloration, and dullness while also brightening and increasing luminosity. It is seriously a game changer. After that soaks in, I follow up with the Juno oil for hydration and the eye cream. Finally I use the Tidal Moisturizer to rehydrate and brighten the skin.

Protecting my skin is my number one priority when it comes to skincare and being in the sun, but that doesn't mean I still won't experience some sun damage which is why I use several products to help brighten and reduce dark spots. It is also very easy for your skin to get dried out during the summer months from the sun, salt water from the ocean and chlorine from pools so you want to constantly be moisturizing. Enjoy your summer with radiant glowy skin!
