Easy Holiday Makeup Look
December 3rd 2018
It is finally December, my favorite month of the year! I love all the decorating, snow, hot chocolate, sitting by a fire and spending time with family. There is nothing better! That also means that there are lots of holiday parties and events to attend. This month you can expect a lot of holiday themed posts for inspiration starting with this one! I created my favorite (and easy!) holiday makeup look that I will probably be wearing all month long. It also includes a lot of my everyday products as well.
First, I start by prepping my face with primer, applying my foundation and then concealer for under my eyes (or any blemishes). I have been loving my new Lancome Foundation for the winter months since I typically need a little extra coverage. I have also been using the Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector for the dark circles under my eyes and love it. It covers everything up! I also bronzed a little bit with my favorite bronzer by Chanel. It might seem extra, but it is the best makeup product I think I have ever purchased. It is huge and will literally last forever. Then I set everything with my Hourglass Translucent Powder.
Okay, now to the fun stuff. I start by dusting a neutral shade all over the lid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush like this one. Any shade close to your skin color will work. I used the first shade in the Bobbi Brown Infra-Red Palette. I love this palette for the holiday season, especially this next shade I used. I took the 7th shade in the palette which is a gold/champagne sparkly color. I first took my flat synthetic brush and sprayed it with Mac Fix+. Wetting the brush before you pick up the eyeshadow will help it stick to the eye and also enhance the sparkle and shine of the shadow. You can use any setting spray, rose water or even eye drops, regular water does not work as well. Then I applied it just on the lid, do not go up into the crease.
If you want to keep it really simple you can leave it like that! Or you can add a color slightly darker to the outside corner/crease of your eye with the same fluffy brush as before or a more precise one like this. I used the second color in the palette for this step. Next, I highlight my inter corner and brow with Nars Highlighting Powder in the shade Albatross but again, any highlighting shade or powder will work. Now if you want to get really crazy you can add some eyeliner, I suggest a wing, but I just curled my and popped on some mascara. My all time favorite, Bobbi Brown Eye opening mascara.
Next, I add a little blush, whichever one you use works. I used Mac Melba. Then I highlight several different places on my face. Now this step is a little excessive but what I do is dust all over my cheeks, chin, and middle of my forehead with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light. It gives the effect of a beautiful inner glow. Then I will highlight my cheekbone and cupids bow with a more intense highlighter. I used the BeccaXJaclynHill Blush/Highlighting Palette which is no longer available, but the highlighting shade is still available individually. It is Becca Champagne Pop which was designed by Jaclyn Hill. You can do both of these steps or just choose one! Both will look beautiful.
And the finishing touch is to add the most perfect red lipstick! This Bobbi Brown Lipstick in “Red” is the best red lipstick around it has just enough orange and just enough red you really can’t beat it. I have searched high and low and haven’t found a better one. If you like a liquid lipstick I also have the Urban Decay Liquid Lipstick in the color “Trap Queen”. It is a bit darker, but still very pretty. And that’s it! The perfect quick and easy Holiday Makeup Look! Basically if you choose any type of sparkle for the eyes you’re set for the holidays!
