Makeup is most definitely one of my favorite things. I love exploring and trying new products, watching videos on new techniques, and feeling like my best self. When it comes to makeup, I am like a little girl who just discovered her mother's makeup drawer. I spoke about where my passion for makeup stemmed from in this post and here I am going to talk about my most recent and updated makeup routine.

I always start my makeup with a clean moisturized face. I usually wait about 10mins after washing and moisturizing before starting. I think this is really important because having a fresh face is the best base you can start with to ensure long lasting beautiful makeup. I prime my face by combining the Hourglass Viel Mineral Primer and the Bobbi Brown Moisture Illuminating Balm. The primer evens out your skin and keeps the makeup from moving all day long, seriously this stuff is amazing. I use the illuminating balm to give the appearance of an inner glow. This can also be used on top of foundation as a cream highlight.

Next, I use the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. I start by applying this directly to the center of my face. I then use a flat kabuki brush to blend outwards. I like this foundation because it is very buildable, meaning I won't use too much and can add more to the places I need a little extra. Then I apply concealer.

RMS Beauty is a really cool brand because all of their products are natural and organic. I use the Lip2Cheek pot in the color Smile under my eyes, just in the areas where I have darkness. This may sound strange since the coral color is very bright, but it actually counteracts the blues and purples of dark circles. These products have so much versatility. Never would I have thought to use a Cream Blush/Lip Balm under my eyes! I then cover it up with the "Un" Cover-up to brighten and conceal my under eyes.

After concealing I set my whole face with a powder, doesn't matter what kind it is. I personally prefer a translucent powder just to set my under eyes to keep a dewy look on the rest of my face.

Next, I focus on my eyes. Sometimes I will use eyeshadow, especially if I am getting more dressed up, but on a typical day, I just line my lashes with the Laura Mercier Caviar stick in this purple-brown color, another very versatile product and so easy to use!

Then I curl my lashes and coat them with the Bobbi Brown Eye-Opening Mascara. I have tried a lot of mascaras and this one is by far my favorite. I usually do 2 coats.

For my cheeks, I don't do a whole lot. I lightly bronze with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze. I love this product because it isn't super pigmented and has a highlighting quality to it as well. It gives you the perfect amount of sun-kissed glow. Next, I add blush to my cheeks. For blush, I use the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in the color Maui. I am not sure why this color is in the bronzing line because it is most definitely pink, but I love it and a little bit goes a long way!

Finally, to top off the look I add a little bit of lip color. First I lightly line my lips with the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip pencil in a mauve color.

Then I use the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in Lovecraft. Not only do I love this color, but I love all of the colors in this line, I also have Lolita II. These lipsticks are amazing. I have tried so many different formulas and have never found one like this. They feel creamy on your lips, but look slightly matte. They also smell incredible. Not to mention they last ALL DAY LONG. I can not get enough of them.

I always have something on my lips so if it's not a lipstick then it is the Glossier Balm Dotcom or the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. I have one of both of these products in all of my purses. They are essentials. I have the Classic, Rose and Mint Balm Dotcom and the Petal and Rose color in the Sugar Lips. I am obsessed with both of these products.

And lastly, I spritz my face with some Mac Fix+. This mineral water helps hydrate and finish off your makeup ensuring a long-lasting look!
